Vienna Insurance Group AG, a leading insurer in Europe, became the largest shareholder of the company in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, BTA insurance company of Latvian capital acquired 100% of shares of the Lithuanian insurance company LTB Draudimas and started its business in Lithuania under the name of UAB BTA DRAUDIMAS. In 2014, BTA successfully completed the process of its reorganization and started operating with a new status of the European Company under the name BTA Insurance Company
